WCRC: Projects Halted by Labor Dispute Resume

WCRC Logo
WCRC: The labor dispute that has halted more than 100 road projects across the state has came to a temporary resolution this afternoon. These projects have been on hold for more than three weeks due to a labor dispute between the Michigan Infrastructure Transportation Association (MITA) and the Operating Engineer’s Local 324. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is not a party to these negotiations.

There were four major WCRC projects halted by this dispute. Work will resume on WCRC's Textile Road project in Pittsfield Township Friday, September 28. Paving on Harris Road in Ypsilanti Township is scheduled to be completed within the next week. Other projects impacted by the work stoppage may resume in the coming weeks, weather and scheduling dependent.

For more information please contact Emily Kizer of the WCRC via phone at 734.327.6646 or via email at kizere@wcroads.org.
