WCRC: Project Announcement - Textile Road and Woodland Drive Roundabout Planned for 2020

WCRC Logo
The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) announces a roundabout project planned for the 2020 construction season at the intersection of Textile Road and Woodland Drive on the border of Pittsfield Township and the City of Saline.

What will the improvement look like?
The WCRC, in partnership with the City of Saline, will build a roundabout at this intersection.

Why this intersection?
In 2017, WCRC applied for a grant to improve the intersection from the Michigan Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Improvement Program. This intersection was identified based on crash history and concerns expressed by residents. The WCRC was awarded the $455,000 grant in February 2018.

When will this project be completed?
Construction is expected to take place during the summer of 2020. The WCRC estimates it's contractor will take 3 – 4 months to build the roundabout. During this time, the intersection will be completely closed to traffic and a detour will be posted.

How can I get more information?
WCRC staff will be presenting a project overview at the November 19, 2018 City of Saline Council Working Session at 6:00 PM. The WCRC will also hold a public information meeting in early 2019.

For specific questions on this project, contact Brent Schlack of the WCRC at schlackb@wcroads.org or via phone at 734.327.6670.
