[ARCHIVED] Township Notified that Wacker Chemical Corporation is considering alternate locations

The Pittsfield Township Board of Trustees (BOT) was updated at their meeting last night, December 11th, by Planning staff that Wacker is in the process of identifying multiple sites in the region for locating their headquarters subsequent to rezoning denial by the BOT for a South Avis location a few months ago.

One of the many locations Wacker is potentially considering is located in Pittsfield Township along State St. proximate to the Ann Arbor Airport (see map). All the other potential locations are outside Pittsfield Township. The purpose of the BOT update and this memorandum is to provide for full transparency and disclosure regarding a potential project that has garnered considerable public interest.

It is our understanding that, at this time, no decision has been made on which one(s) of the multiple sites Wacker may pursue. If they choose to proceed with a site plan submission for a Pittsfield location, the matter will be considered by the Planning Commission.
