Ellsworth Stone School Pathway

As part of the Planned Unit Development (PUD) renewal process, Pittsfield Township and City of Ann Arbor approved installation of sidewalk in Pittsfield Township. The project is being funded by the City of Ann Arbor and is broken into two phases for the project cost of about $2M for both phases. The first phase comprises of sidewalk installation on the south side of Ellsworth Road between Platt Road and Stone School Road. The second phase will comprise of a sidewalk along Stone School Road from Ellsworth Road, south to Morgan Road.
When the project is complete, it satisfies the PUD requirements, as outlined by Pittsfield Township. This project will serve to significantly enhance non-motorized connectivity in the region by connecting: (a) North into the City of Ann Arbor's extensive sidewalk network; (b) South into Pittsfield Township's Platt Road Greenway along Lillie Park, Johnson Preserve, and Township Administration Campus; (c) East into the existing bike lanes along Ellsworth Road; and (d) West into the Pittsfield Preserve. As such, thousands of Pittsfield Township residents on the east side will now have non-motorized access to numerous recreational, commercial, government, and green spaces including Pittsfield Township Administration Building, Lillie Park, Johnson Preserve, Swift Run Park and the 500 acre Pittsfield Preserve.
