Due to inclement weather, Carpenter Road between Bemis Road and Merritt Road will remain closed through Wednesday, May 21, 2014. This date is tentative and is weather dependent. The posted detour route will continue to utilize Bemis Road west of Carpenter Road, Platt Road, and Michigan Avenue (U.S. 12) west of Carpenter Road. Access to property owners between Bemis and Merritt Roads will continue to be provided. All other motorists and road users are advised to follow the posted detour route.
Carpenter Road is being improved to enhance the horizontal curve just north of Bemis Road and provide paved shoulders. The road will also be resurfaced as part of this improvement.
To maintain the safety of road crews, motorists are asked to be especially mindful of construction equipment and personnel and reduce speeds accordingly. The Washtenaw County Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as we continue our efforts to preserve the county road system.
