The Ann Arbor-Saline Road Improvements project is scheduled to begin Monday April 21, 2014.The project limits are between Oak Valley Drive and Eisenhower Parkway. The scope of theimprovements consists of rehabilitating/reconstructing the existing pavement and upgradingthe pedestrian facilities on the east side of the road to provide a connection over I-94 betweenthe City of Ann Arbor and Pittsfield Township. Bike lanes will also be constructed on both sidesof the roadway between Lohr Road and Eisenhower Parkway.
Stage 1 of the project will close the southbound lanes of Ann Arbor-Saline Road betweenEisenhower Parkway and the eastbound I-94 exit ramp. During the closure of the southboundlanes, a signed detour will be in place directing motorist to use Main Street, EisenhowerParkway, State Street, Ellsworth Road, Lohr Road, and Oak Valley Drive. Attached is the Stage 1detour map for detouring southbound traffic. Additionally, the Waters Road approach to theAnn Arbor-Saline Road intersection will be closed and a signed detour will be in place directingmotorist to use Oak Valley Drive. Lastly, the Brookfield Drive approach to the Ann Arbor-SalineRoad intersection will be closed and a signed detour will be in place directing motorist to useNorthbrook Drive.
Please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through the work zone in order to maintain thesafety of the road crews and the traveling public. The Road Commission thanks you in advancefor your patience as these improvements are completed.
