The Ann Arbor-Saline Road Improvements project is scheduled to begin Monday April 21, 2014.
The project limits are between Oak Valley Drive and Eisenhower Parkway. The scope of the
improvements consists of rehabilitating/reconstructing the existing pavement and upgrading
the pedestrian facilities on the east side of the road to provide a connection over I-94 between
the City of Ann Arbor and Pittsfield Township. Bike lanes will also be constructed on both sides
of the roadway between Lohr Road and Eisenhower Parkway.
Stage 1 of the project will close the southbound lanes of Ann Arbor-Saline Road between
Eisenhower Parkway and the eastbound I-94 exit ramp. During the closure of the southbound
lanes, a signed detour will be in place directing motorist to use Main Street, Eisenhower
Parkway, State Street, Ellsworth Road, Lohr Road, and Oak Valley Drive. Attached is the Stage 1
detour map for detouring southbound traffic. Additionally, the Waters Road approach to the
Ann Arbor-Saline Road intersection will be closed and a signed detour will be in place directing
motorist to use Oak Valley Drive. Lastly, the Brookfield Drive approach to the Ann Arbor-Saline
Road intersection will be closed and a signed detour will be in place directing motorist to use
Northbrook Drive.
Please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through the work zone in order to maintain the
safety of the road crews and the traveling public. The Road Commission thanks you in advance
for your patience as these improvements are completed.
