[ARCHIVED] Lane Closures on Carpenter Road between Packard & Washtenaw

The Carpenter Road Improvements project is scheduled to begin Monday, June 16, 2014. The project limits are between Packard Road and Washtenaw Avenue (M-17). The scope of the improvements consists of reconstructing the existing pavement, filling sidewalk gaps, construction of a midblock pedestrian crossing, and bike lanes on both sides of the roadway. This work will also be coordinated with a DTE Community Lighting project being constructed on behalf of Pittsfield Township. The project is scheduled to be re-opened to traffic in November of 2014.

Stage 1 of the project will reconstruct the west side of the road. One lane for each direction will be maintained for the duration of the project. Left turns within the project limits will be prohibited. Access to properties within the project limits will be maintained during construction as business will remain open. The traffic shift and lane closures are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. An alternate route will be posted advising traffic to use Packard Road, Golfside Road, and Washtenaw Avenue. Additionally, Central will be closed at Carpenter Road intersection and Crystal will be closed at the Washtenaw Avenue intersection for the duration of the project.

Please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through the work zone in order to maintain the safety of the road crews and the traveling public. The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these improvements are completed.
