Traffic shift and lane closures on Carpenter Road between Packard Rd & Washtenaw Ave (M-17) and Packard Road at Carpenter Road will begin on Friday, September 5th until further notice.
The contractor for the Carpenter Road Improvements project is scheduled to move into Stage 2 of the project on Friday September 5th. This work will involve shifting traffic onto the new concrete pavement on the west side of the road and begin reconstructing the east side of Carpenter Road between Packard Road and Washtenaw Ave. There will continue to be one lane open for each direction of travel on Carpenter Road for the duration of the project. The posted alternate route for traffic continues to be signed for Packard Road, Golfside Road, and Washtenaw Avenue. Access to properties within the project limits are being maintained as businesses remain open. Lane closures will also be imposed on Packard Road at the Carpenter Road intersection, one lane open for each direction of travel, to facilitate the reconstruction of the pavement within the intersection. Central at Carpenter Road and Crystal at Washtenaw Ave remain closed for the duration or the project.
Please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through the work zone in order to maintain the safety of the road crews and the traveling public. The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these improvements are completed.
