Upcoming DTE Tree Trimming Activity in Pittsfield Township

DTE
Trees are the leading cause of power outages and can pose a serious public safety hazard if they grow too near or into power lines. DTE Energy will be performing tree trimming in the fall of this year to help improve electric reliability in our community.

Along with the tree trimming to be conducted this fall, DTE will begin field analysis work in late October, prior to additional trimming in early 2021.

As part of this effort, DTE will reach out to customers in the coming weeks in a number of ways before tree trimming begins. Initially, customers will receive a phone call and letter explaining that DTE will be in the area. Then DTE will begin to plan the work. If a customer is not at home when DTE is evaluating their property (planning the work), DTE will leave a door hanger with contact information for the property owner. DTE also has information on their website at dteenergy.com/treecare about their tree maintenance program.
