DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
AND
NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
FOR A
PROPOSED RUNWAY EXTENSION PROJECT

ALL INTERESTED PERSONS are notified of the availability of the Draft Environmental Assessment evaluating the potential effects of proposed improvements at Ann Arbor Municipal Airport in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Executive Orders, and FAA policies including Order 1050.1F. The City of Ann Arbor is also holding a public hearing on the Draft Environmental Assessment for the following development at the Ann Arbor Municipal Airport:
- Shift Runway 6/24 to the southwest by adding an additional 150 feet on the Runway 6 end and removing 150 feet on the Runway 24 end
- Extend the runway 720 feet at the approach end of Runway 6 to provide 4,225 feet of total runway length
- Taxiway A – Extend parallel to the southwest to match the new Runway 6/24 length
- Taxiway A1 – Relocate 150 feet to the southwest and reconstruct
- Taxiway A4 – Construct new connector taxiway at the Runway 6 end
- Taxiway D – Relocate 150 feet to the southwest and reconstruct
- Related on-airport infrastructure improvements and other miscellaneous connected actions
ALL INTERESTED PERSONS are further advised of a public hearing being held by the City of Ann Arbor. The purpose of the public hearing will be to consider the social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements and whether the improvements are in the public interest and consistent with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. The public hearing is scheduled for:
- Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, Guy C. Larcom City Hall, 301 E. Huron Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104
The public hearing will be an open house format with no formal presentation given. Members from the project team will be available to answer questions on an individual basis. Interested participants may attend the meeting anytime between the listed hours. A court reporter will be available for those persons who would like to make a statement regarding the project, and have it included in the official transcript of the public hearing. Participants can also fill out comment forms and leave them at the meeting in designated comment boxes. Comments received will be considered during the development of the Final Environmental Assessment.

While you can ask us in your comment to withhold from public review your personal identifying information, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
