HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS

The National Kidney Foundations is offering the following virtual programs. You can make health and wellness changes in your life . . . even from a distance! The NKFM offers evidence-based and scientific advisory board approved programs from your home.

Walk With Ease

Walk With Ease is a 6-week physical activity program that can reduce pain and improve overall health by building up to 30 minutes of walking at least three days a week. If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, you can have success with Walk With Ease. You'll be sent a book, enrolled in weekly email communications, and connected to a coach who will "walk" you through the program over the phone. The program has helped participants improve balance, build confidence in walking pace, and improve limitations and symptoms.

Diabetes Prevention Program

DPP helps people at risk learn how to make lifestyle changes and stick to them. As part of a small, supportive group online, you’ll learn how to eat healthier, lose weight, and incorporate more physical activity into your life. A trained coach will guide the group in how to make better choices over the course of 16 one-hour weekly sessions right from home. After that, you’ll join the group monthly, for one full year of the program.

Personal Action Toward Health

PATH helps people better manage their long-term health conditions while being led by two trained leaders, at least one of whom has a long-term health condition. Participants learn strategies to deal with pain, fatigue, and difficult emotions. Each week participants
